The end of the year is here, a very strange year. What I have been taking away from this year has been what has happened in the face of adversity. What we are seeing in spite of the stress, the pandemic, the anxiety. There have been some amazing stories of people reconnecting with kites and kite flying. 'Old hands' at flying getting a deeper, richer experience with their kites, New folks discovering this amazing hobby/passion/pastime of ours.
Thank you to those that have reached out with stories to share about your kite life in 2020. Keep them coming!!! I am looking forward to sharing this 'Year in Review' with all of you. Shoot me an email with your favorite story or memory. It doesn't have to be a big, it doesn't have to be small, it just has to mean something to you.

TIP OF THE WEEK
When flying a sport kite, something to think about is line tension. We often talk about 'slack line tricks' and think about giving slack but this is only half of the equation. We also need to think about keeping and maintaining tension in the lines. It is a dance between giving slack there and holding tension here.
This applies to other kites as well. Want a single line kite to climb higher? Give it line and some slack, and when you find your spot, hold the tension in the line. Power kites; is all about finding the right tension in the kite and the lines to load the sail and create drive. 'Backing down' on the tension is like taking your foot off the gas pedal.
