Kite Craftsmanship

Duck

4 foot Rokkaku kite with duck applique.

Materials: Emmakites ripstop nylon, 3/4" nylon webbing, orange shoelace, 3/8 split rings, 3oo ft of 100 lb line (including bridle), 1 x 0.188" x 48" carbon tube,
2 x 0.156" x 48" carbon tube (cut to size), 4 x FSD endcaps (0.156"), 2 x soft endcaps
for the 0.188"tube

References: (1) Sewing video by Ron Gibian - watched this and then bought a sewing machine. (2) AKA vol.37 article on 4ft Rokkaku - built this using standard Rokkaku ratios instead of the tapered design (3) Ron Gibian video on applique - watched this and decided to add a duck (4) 2004 Article by Larry Green on Rokkaku Bridle and Bow Lines. The duck design was found in a stained glass section on Pinterest - I scaled it up and adapted it for the kite. I did not have help building it, but did go back an watch Ron's videos many times :)

This challenge is for all of the beautiful kitemakers and builders out there that pour their heart and soul into building their kite. If you have competed in previous kitebuilding competitions, this is your challenge! All kites will be included into the same category, however individuals may be selected for special accolades based on beauty, first time build, etc....
